The following points detail the steps necessary for downloading and running the JaDEX application on a Linux or Unix-based system. It is necessary that your computer run Java version 5, as the software will not work with previous versions.

Download the software
	Click on the link below to start downloading the zipped folder jadexlin.zip (approx 1.5 Mb)

Once you have downloaded the file

• Unzip the archive to a location of your choice
• Open the extracted directory in a terminal window
• Make the jadex start-up script executable with the chmod command
  for example chmod a+x jadex
• Run the application with ./jadex
• (first time only) Get the dictionary data from the internet using the update feature
